PlayStation 3 video game, Microsoft Xbox 360, and the Nintendo Wii are the top three video gaming consoles on today’s market. The consoles are pricey and some are hard to find. So, before purchasing any of the game consoles, be sure to do your video game research.


The Xbox 360 is the most popular of the top three on the market. It can play the classic and most of the popular games available. The newly introduced the Microsoft Interface Experience has just been released. It’s easy to change the appearance of your console by using the Faces 360. With the Xbox Live, you can play with anyone, anytime, and anywhere.

The Xbox 360 has high-definition graphics that redesign what games look, sound, and feel like. However, accessories must be purchased to take full advantage of the it, with increases the cost of the Xbox 360.

It comes with 512MG GDDR3 Ram and 700 MHz DDR of memory and supports up to 4 wireless game controllers. The PlayStation 3 has input/output of 3 USB 2.0 ports, and 2 memory unit slots, and instant out-of-the box access to Xbox Live with a price range of $299 to $399.

The bad news is the console is noisy when running, and a monthly gaming subscription is required.

The Nintendo Wii is the most popular gaming console, but also the hardest to find. If you can’t locate an individual console, you might want to take advantage of a Wii bundle. The Wii is family-friendly and offers something for most everyone, like the Wii Fit with a balance board, and a Mario card. The graphics are not High Definition, and seem to be more cartoon-like, but the system is great for multiple players of all ages.

It has a sleek look and compact size (8.5″ x 6″ x 2″), and a disc driver that supports a single or dual layer optical disc, and is backwards compatible.

The main advantage is the Wii controller. There is no learning curve; all the player needs to do is point and swing the controller to get the desired game movement pg or action. The controller is precise and movements are natural.

The Wii comes equipped with a CMOS processor capable of 729,000 cycles per second, an ATI Hollywood GPU that works at about 249,000 Hz, 88MB RAM, 512MB flash memory, SD card slot, and an internal speaker. It has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi WLAN, and USB LAN-connectivity. An individual Wii console can be found for abour $200.00. Each Wii Bundle is different, and allows you to choose which programs and what accessories best suit your needs. Bundle prices range from $189.99 – $649.99.

The PlayStation 3 video games are the only High-Definition and Blue-Ray player on the market. Not only does it play High-Definition movies, it updates standard DVD’s. It’s offers a stylish design, but the black glossy finish is a fingerprint magnet. The graphics are awesome, and offers free on-line play. You can create your own avatar and play online with other PlayStation 3 video game users. However, the online gaming, media, and commerce options are not as developed as the Xbox Live.
